Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hammad affirmed that the city of Sirte stands today on the cusp of a pivotal stage in its journey, as it recovers and rises again after years of marginalization and terrorism.
This came in a speech he delivered during a ceremony for the inauguration of several facilities at Sirte University, where he stressed that the city’s ongoing maintenance of educational facilities, rehabilitation of public buildings, construction of roads and bridges, and development of electricity and water networks represent tangible achievements for its people and all Libyans.
Hammad added that Sirte University has become a beacon of knowledge and an incubator for generations that will build the nation’s future, praising the efforts of the Development Fund, its administration, and its members in implementing projects throughout Libya.
The Prime Minister noted that the return of life to Sirte is the fruit of its people’s persistence in making it stronger and more beautiful than it was, stressing that the government will continue the path of building and reconstruction in Sirte and throughout all of Libya.
