UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said she met with heads of committees of the Tripoli-based High Council of State, who briefed her on the progress of the roadmap committee of HCS and the House of Representatives (HoR).
“Yesterday in Tripoli, I met with HCS members Mr. Adel Karmous, Head of the Legal Committee, Mr. Khalifa Thweib, Head of the National Reconciliation Committee, and Mr. Mohamad Abou Sneina, Head of the Anti-Corruption Committee who were joined by Mr. Saeed Kala, HCS Rapporteur,” Williams tweeted on Tuesday.
“They briefed me on the progress of the HoR and HCS roadmap committees and the existing consensus between the two chambers. I appreciated the substantive briefing,” UN adviser pointed out.
“I stressed the importance of continued consensus, and of responsible engagement by all actors in the political track while ensuring continued calm as a top national priority,” she added.
