Benghazi – Ibrahim Bushnaf, head of the National Committee for the Follow-up of Prisons and Prisoners’ Affairs, met Sunday in Benghazi with Stephanie Khouri, Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Political Affairs at the UNSMIL mission in Libya. The two discussed several issues of common concern.
Bushnaf emphasized that the committee is committed to carrying out its duties within the framework of relevant laws. He highlighted the importance of continuing efforts to address prison-related issues to achieve justice and uphold human dignity.
Khouri praised the committee’s work monitoring prison conditions and prisoners’ rights. She stressed the need to maintain cooperation and coordination to support stability and the rule of law in Libya.
