The Board of Directors of University of Benghazi (UoB), led by its President Dr. Izzidden Al-Darsi, received Monday a high-level Turkish delegation headed by the head of the Turkish Intelligence Agency, in a step aimed to enhance bilateral relations and open new avenues for cooperation, according to UoB website.
The meeting was also attended by the Director-General of the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund, Engineer Belqasim Haftar.
The Turkish delegation conducted an inspection tour of the significant urban renaissance currently underway across the university’s various faculties and facilities.
The visiting delegation praised the efforts led by the Development and Reconstruction Fund, which aim to rehabilitate and modernize the university’s infrastructure in line with global standards.
During the meeting, Engineer Belqasim Haftar reviewed the progress made in the ongoing reconstruction projects, emphasizing their importance in providing an ideal academic environment for students and faculty members.
For his part, Dr. Al-Darsi commended the pivotal role played by the Fund, noting that these projects represent a qualitative leap in the university’s history.
The two parties discussed ways to establish joint and fruitful cooperation between Benghazi University and Turkish universities.
The dialogue also touched upon the potential to benefit from Turkish expertise in the restoration and preservation of manuscripts.
