UN envoy to Libya Abdoulaye Bathily said he met the Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) Imad AlSayeh, where they exchanged views on the political process.
AlSayeh updated Bathily on the preparations to launch municipal council elections in 97 municipalities across Libya in the coming weeks, according to UN envoy.
“I commended the professionalism of HNEC and their commitment for their homeland. UNSMIL will continue to provide them with technical assistance,” Bathily said on X.
