Al-Bayda – The Food and Drug Control Center, in cooperation with the Municipal Guard, carried out intensive inspection campaigns in Al-Bayda, Tobruk, and Sabha, targeting water factories, drug warehouses, and bakeries, to verify their compliance with health requirements and Libyan standards.
In Al-Bayda, the campaign targeted bottled drinking water factories, where violations were recorded, including: non-compliance of the produced water with health standards, a lack of adequate cleanliness and sterilization in the manufacturing environment, and poor maintenance of vital equipment. The technical violations have been referred to the enforcement authorities to take the necessary action.
In Tobruk, the Al-Butnan branch carried out an inspection campaign on drug companies and warehouses, where the validity of stored medicines and the facilities’ compliance with the required sanitary storage and preservation conditions were checked.
In Sabha, the tour targeted a number of bakeries within the municipality, resulting in the closure of some bakeries with red wax seals, the issuance of warnings to violators, and the implementation of deterrent legal measures.
The Food and Drug Control Center in Libya affirmed that these tours are part of national efforts aimed at ensuring product safety and protecting citizens’ health by enhancing regulatory efficiency and intensifying fieldwork.
