Libyan Interior Minister Khaled Mazen discussed with delegates of the European Union’s Mission in Libya the upcoming general elections on December 24, the migration crisis in the Mediterranean and conflict resolution, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
“The Minister stressed upon the importance of the elections, as it is a popular demand and the only way out to renounce division among the Libyan people,” the ministry said in a brief statement.
Mazen also discussed with the EU delegates the outcomes of government officials’ recent visit to the southern region, in addition to the reopening of the coastal road linking the western and eastern regions of the country.
