Libyan Interior Minister Khaled Mazen discussed with delegates of the European Union’s Mission in Libya the upcoming general elections on December 24, the migration crisis in the Mediterranean and conflict resolution, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
Mohammed Al-Manfi, chairman of the Presidential Council, called on Libya parties to make “concessions” to provide “the appropriate environment” that ensures that the national elections are held in December, according to a statement by the council on Tuesday.
Aguila Saleh, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Khaled Mazen, the Interior Minister, met on Tuesday in Tobruk to discuss security arrangements for the elections in December.
