Cairo – Egyptians inside the country continue to cast their votes today, Tuesday, for the second consecutive day in the 2025 House of Representatives elections. This is part of the second phase of the electoral process, which began on Monday morning according to the timeline and procedural framework approved by the National Elections Authority.
The elections in this phase are being held across 13 governorates, encompassing 73 constituencies and 5287 sub-committees distributed throughout the various governorates to facilitate the polling process and ensure voters can reach the ballot boxes safely and easily. A total of 1316 candidates are competing under the individual candidacy system in this phase, in addition to a single list representing the two list-based constituencies in the sectors of Cairo, North, Central, and South Delta, and East Delta, as part of the mixed electoral system used in Egypt.
The National Elections Authority has called on all citizens to participate actively in the voting, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring the integrity of the electoral process and reflecting the will of the voters in the ballot boxes with complete transparency and without any external or internal interference. The Authority also stressed that all procedures are proceeding in accordance with the applicable legal regulations to guarantee a fair election that represents the will of the Egyptian people.
The governorates included in the second phase are Cairo, Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Menoufia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharqia, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, South Sinai, and North Sinai, as announced by the National Elections Authority.
This second phase follows the completion of the first phase, which witnessed widespread participation in specific governorates. Meanwhile, the relevant authorities continue to provide all logistical and administrative facilities to ensure the electoral process proceeds without any obstacles, with close monitoring of the integrity of the voting and the rights of the voters. This step aims to support the democratic process and strengthen the role of the new House of Representatives in shaping legislative and service-related policies for citizens.
