Al-Bayda – The Women’s Training and Development Center of the Al-Bayda municipal council launched its inaugural training course on Monday. The course offers instruction in several handicraft skills and is among the first initiatives since the center opened. Its goal is to provide practical programs that help women acquire skills they can use in the workplace or to start small businesses.
Fatima Gleish, a member of the Al-Bayda municipal council, told the Libyan News Agency that the course marks the beginning of the center’s training activities. She explained that it covers a range of handicraft skills selected to benefit participants and allow them to continue developing their abilities after the course ends.
Gleish added that the aim of these programs is to empower women with job-ready skills, whether for personal development or for launching small projects. She noted that the center focuses on hands-on training tailored to the needs of local women.
She also said the center plans to organize additional courses in different fields in the coming period, broadening opportunities for women to learn and gain new skills. Gleish stressed that the current course is the start of a larger ongoing training program.
Supporting women goes beyond training, Gleish emphasized. The center also seeks to help women apply their new skills and turn them into productive work. The center hopes that its programs will assist women in launching and developing their own small businesses.
The training course is part of the center’s efforts to expand its activities in Al-Bayda and offer practical programs aimed at building women’s skills and encouraging them to seek employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
