Benghazi – A dialogue session on the role of women in the democratic transition process was held this Tuesday evening at the headquarters of the Libya Karama Party, discussing the effectiveness of women’s roles and ways to enhance their participation in the political and democratic process.
The representative of the Al-Riyada Company for Training and Development, Samira Al-Agouri, told a LANA correspondent that the session addressed the challenges facing women in political work and ways to overcome them, to ensure effective participation and enable them to exercise their national rights.
She added that the dialogue explored how to increase women’s representation in democratic institutions and achieve positive, tangible results.
For her part, Salsabil Ihsan, the General Commissioner of the Al-Riyada Company, affirmed that women’s empowerment is only complete through intensive training and work meetings to develop their skills and enhance their abilities in the political field.
In turn, the director of the Tamkeen Foundation for Women and Youth Studies explained that the session was organized in partnership with the Al-Riyada Organization for Training and Development and the Libyan Organization for Development. He added that it aims to support women’s participation in the upcoming municipal elections and to prepare for the structured dialogue sponsored by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
The session concluded by emphasizing the importance of strengthening the role of women in political life to ensure a balanced and effective participation that serves the democratic process in the country.
