Member of the House of Representatives, Abdelsalam Nassiyah, participated in the first meeting of the Arab Parliament’s Palestine Committee, part of the second session of the fourth legislative term, which was held at the Arab Parliament’s headquarters in Cairo to follow up on developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The committee discussed the latest developments in Palestine following the Sharm El Sheikh summit agreement and approved a draft resolution that includes the Arab Parliament’s actions to support the Palestinian cause at the regional and international levels.
The spokesman for the House of Representatives, Abdullah Bliheg, said that during the meeting, Nassiyah made an intervention in which he stressed the importance of the Arab Parliament studying US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza from political and legal aspects, with the need to clarify its pros and cons and to deal with it with a unified Arab vision.
Nassiyah also saluted the free people of the world who took to the streets in demonstrations in support of the Palestinian cause and demanded a halt to the war, considering this global popular support a reflection of the justness of the Palestinian cause and the peoples’ rejection of the occupation’s violations.
At the conclusion of his intervention, Nassiyah stressed the need for the committee’s resolution to include a call for Arab and Islamic countries to actively participate in the Gaza reconstruction conference, which the Arab Republic of Egypt intends to organize next month, in support of the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and reconstruction efforts.
