Tripoli – The Genetic Studies Unit of the National Center for Disease Control participated in the Fourth International Conference on Genetic and Metabolic Diseases, held on October 26 and 27 in Tripoli, under the supervision of the Libyan Society for Genetic and Metabolic Diseases.
Dr. Iman Talha delivered a scientific lecture on genetic mutations and the transmission methods of genetic diseases, in addition to a workshop on analyzing family trees and calculating the probabilities of contracting these diseases.
The conference was widely attended by Libyan doctors and specialists, along with participants from Tunisia and the UAE, and experts from Egypt, Canada, and Qatar who joined via Zoom.
At its conclusion, participants stressed the importance of establishing a national registry for genetic diseases to support scientific research and improve health services in Libya.
