Libya elected as second deputy of 2022 AU presidency

Libya was elected as second deputy of the African Union’s presidency for 2022 during the union’s 35th summit in Addis Ababa, according to the statement by the Libyan Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

Senegal was elected to lead the the African Union’s presidency for this year while “consultations are still ongoing” between member states to elect the first deputy, the Libyan ministry said.
