The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Wednesday that 1,173 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 19 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 11 others died of the virus, while 663 have recovered during the same reporting period.
132 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 400,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 386,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 5,874 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 946,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses. 7,166 people received booster doses.
