The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 233 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 9 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 8 others died of the virus, while 1,324 have recovered during the same reporting period.
125 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have reached 500,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 483,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 6,344 people in total. Over two million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over one million were fully vaccinated with two doses.
