The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 648 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 12 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 21 others died of the virus, while 1,917 have recovered during the same reporting period.
172 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 360,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 306,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 5,207 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 489,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
