The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Tuesday that 651 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 11 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 13 others died of the virus, while 516 have recovered during the same reporting period.
140 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 390,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 378,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 5,740 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 861,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
