Libya records 669 new cases, 8 deaths of COVID-19

1291 people test positive for Coronavirus, 14 others dead in Libya

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 669 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 19 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 9 others died of the virus, while 2,732 have recovered during the same reporting period.

125 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 495,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 466,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 6,269 people in total. Over two million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over one million were fully vaccinated with two doses. Over 73,000 people received booster doses.
