Libyan MP: New budget for 2022 should not exceed $18 billion

Khalifa Al-Daghari, a member of the House Finance Committee, said that the new budget for 2022 should not exceed 90 billion  Libyan dinars ($18 billion).

Al-Daghari told the press that public salaries alone will cost the treasury about 65 billion dinars, which he says was caused by the government’s mismanagement of employment policies.

Al-Daghari stressed the need to reduce spending from the emergency clause in the new budget, after it cost nearly  7 billion dinars last year.
