A number of Libyan civil society organizations have welcomed the visit of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to Libya and his meeting with a number of active political and security leaders in the country.
In a statement on Wednesday, the NGOs expressed their appreciation for the role of the ICC and its recent efforts in Libya, led by Karim Khan, praising the “impartiality of the prosecutor and the court and his communication with everyone, east and west.”
The statement of the NGOs stressed that “any solution in Libya must not exclude anyone and include all parties, in order to get the country out of the current state of impasse.”
The commander of the Libyan National Army, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, had received in his office in Benghazi on Tuesday, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, where the two parties discussed the situation in Libya.
