The Libyan Food and Drug Control Center has conducted 16,000 inspection operations nationwide, according to a statement by the center’s director Nouri Al-Dhawi.
Al-Dhawi described the operations as successful. However, he to traders and consumers alike to raise cultural awareness and strengthen its self-regulatory role when it comes to examining product quality.
He pointed out that raising awareness is “important to ensure that goods are transported and stored in a manner that matches the required criteria” and “to ensure the safety of the commodity in terms of its production date and expiry date.”
