Mohamed al-Menfi, chairman of Libya’s Presidential Council, and Charles Michel, President of the European Council, held talks on the sidelines of the AU-EU summit in Brussels on Friday.
According to a statement by the Libyan council, the two leaders discussed join cooperation between Libya and the EU across a number of issues, especially on security and the migration crisis.
Al-Menfi underscored the need for joint action to secure the maritime borders between Libya the EU, while Michel emphasized the importance of looking after migrants and ensuring respect for international human rights laws.
