Former Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Maiteeq is “concretely thinking” about a presidential candidacy in the upcoming elections on December 24, report Italian news website Formiche.
According to Formiche, Maiteeq is “moving the cards towards a candidacy for the presidency” after he publicly endorsed the presidential elections law, which the House of Representatives issued few weeks ago.
“The law to elect the president directly from the people is a positive step that pushes towards the establishment of a stable political and economic environment, as well as pushes towards the unification of divided institutions,” Maiteeq tweeted on September 10. “We ask all Libyan parties to support it ”.
