Libya to prioritize $3bn Mellitah offshore project

Mellitah Oil & Gas , an operating company jointly owned by the Italian Eni and the Libyan National Oil Corporation, has drilled the B4-49 well, in the Bouri offshore field, 120 kilometers north of the Libyan coast in the Mediterranean Sea, with the aim to produce oil and gas with a production capacity of 1,800 barrels of oil per day.

This was announced by the Libyan oil company National Oil Corporation (NOC), stating in a statement that the successful drilling of the well is part of the Mellitah Company’s plan to improve and increase the level of production at the Bouri offshore field. The technical teams managed to complete the drilling of the well with “smart equipment” and to test the level of daily production.
