Benghazi – Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Awad Al-Badri, affirmed that the support from the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund has been a fundamental pillar for the ministry’s projects, contributing to raising the level of operational readiness and achieving full stability for the electrical grid.
Al-Badri praised the continuous coordination between the Fund, the ministry, and the General Electricity Company in implementing vital projects.
This came during a field visit the minister conducted yesterday to the North Benghazi Power Station, as part of his continuous follow-up on maintenance, station development, and efforts to raise their operational efficiency in the coming period.
Upon his arrival, the minister was received by the station’s general manager, a number of department managers from the General Electricity Company, and the director of the General Administration of the Electricity Police. He held an extensive meeting that began with a welcoming speech from the station’s general manager, who expressed his gratitude for the minister’s attention and direct field follow-up.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Badri also emphasized the strategic importance of the North Benghazi Power Station as one of the largest stations in the Eastern Region, explaining that it is heavily relied upon to enhance the stability of the electrical grid.
The minister praised the significant efforts made by the technical teams, pledging continued support to increase production capacity and improve operational performance.
He concluded his visit with a field tour inside the station, during which he was briefed on the progress of work on the fifth unit, which has reached the final stages of its maintenance, in preparation for connecting it to the grid as soon as possible.
