Minister of Water Resources and his Tajik counterpart discuss bilateral cooperation in dam construction and environmental protection

Tripoli – Libyan GNU Minister of Water Resources Husni Owaidan met with Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Daler Juma, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in water resource management, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development.

The meeting took place in Dushanbe on the sidelines of the fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development 2018–2028.” The ministers reviewed the results of the conference and explored prospects for future cooperation.

Minister Juma praised Libya’s active participation in the conference and acknowledged the Libyan delegation’s contribution to the African Forum held as part of the event. Both sides expressed their commitment to developing cooperation in the integrated management of water resources, the study and construction of dams, as well as knowledge sharing, capacity building, and training.
