Gradual return of Al-Madar Al-Jadeed and Libyana services to Ghat and Tahala areas after disruption caused by floods

Tripoli – The board of the Libyan Telecom Holding Company has announced the gradual restoration of services by Al-Madar Al-Jadid and Libyana in the municipalities of Ghat and Tahala. This follows an outage caused by recent severe weather conditions in the region.

According to officials cited by the Hakomatna platform, heavy rain and flooding damaged telecommunications infrastructure, including a fiber optic cable owned by Hatif Libya. This led to a service interruption at one of the network sites in the Tahala area.

The company reported that 11 out of 12 affected sites have now been restored, operating at a readiness rate of 91.7%. Most sites are currently running on the backup VSAT system to ensure service continuity. Maintenance and coordination efforts are ongoing to repair the damaged cable and fully restore the network to normal operation.
