Tripoli – The Ministry of Youth, under the sponsorship of the Government of National Unity, announced it will organize the Local Youth Conference on Climate – Libya 2026 Edition. The event is being held in cooperation with Ru’ya Foundation and under the umbrella of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The conference will bring together young people interested in environmental and climate issues from across Libya, including the east, south, and west. The initiative is part of efforts to promote youth participation in environmental and climate concerns.
In a statement posted on its official page Friday evening, marking World Environment Day, the ministry said the conference aims to amplify the voices of Libyan youth and empower them to contribute more effectively to shaping the country’s climate future. The event is part of ongoing initiatives to support youth involvement in environmental and climate discussions, and to increase their presence in relevant programs and initiatives at both the local and international levels.
