Sirte – The head of the Sirte Electoral Management Office, Khaled Al-Hleib, followed the progress of the electoral process at a number of polling stations within the municipality of Gulf of Sidra, which opened their doors at nine in the morning to receive voters as part of the third group of municipal council elections that kicked off today, Saturday.
During the tour, Al-Hleib was accompanied by the Assistant for Security Affairs at the Sirte Security Directorate, Brigadier General Muftah Al-Dabbar, the Security Coordinator at the Electoral Management Office, Brigadier General Salheen Atbiqa, and the Coordinator of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Sirte Electoral Management Office, Ali Farhat, where they were briefed on the procedures for receiving voters and the progress of the voting process in an organized and secure atmosphere.
The Libyan News Agency correspondent in Sirte reported that the number of lists running for the Gulf of Sidra Municipal Council elections reached four, while the number of candidates for the individual system reached nineteen independent candidates, amidst a turnout of voters to participate in choosing their representatives in the municipal council.
