Benghazi – The Municipal Guard of the Libyan Government carried out a field campaign in the Al-Wahda Al-Arabiya market in the city of Benghazi to monitor the extent of commercial businesses’ commitment to implementing the electronic services system and payment through banking methods.
Colonel Salah Al-Sahli, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department at the agency’s headquarters, explained to a “LANA” correspondent that the campaign is part of the government’s plan to activate the use of electronic services in commercial and service activities, with the participation of the agency’s support and reinforcement patrols, and in cooperation with the patrols section of the Municipal Guard’s Benghazi branch.
He pointed out that the goal of the campaign is to regulate buying and selling activities and reduce direct cash transactions, in support of the state’s efforts to shift towards a digital economy and provide a safer and more transparent commercial environment.
The Municipal Guard stressed the importance of promoting the culture of electronic transactions in Libyan markets and called on business owners to fully comply with the electronic services and bank payment system, in a way that serves the public interest and curtails illegal practices.
