National Development Agency Signs Contracts for International Equestrian Track and New Government Palace

Sirte – The Director General of the National Development Agency (NDA), Dr. Mahmoud Al-Forjani, has signed contracts with major international specialized companies to implement two strategic projects in the city of Sirte: the Sirte International Equestrian Track and the new Government Palace. The signing comes as part of the NDA’s efforts to support reconstruction and develop infrastructure and vital facilities within the framework of Vision 2030.

The Sirte International Equestrian Track project includes the construction of an integrated sports and entertainment complex according to international horse racing standards. Spanning a vast area to host international championships, the project features a main racing track, spectator stands, VIP areas, stables, and veterinary facilities. It also includes a specialized arena for traditional Libyan equestrianism, alongside open spaces and the infrastructure required to host major Arab and international events.

Meanwhile, the new Government Complex project in Sirte aims to establish an integrated presidential and administrative hub. This includes the Government Palace building, official headquarters, and supporting administrative offices, in addition to protocol squares and specialized security and service infrastructure. The project is part of a vision to develop Sirte as a modern national administrative center that enhances the efficiency of the Libyan state’s governmental operations.

The Director General of the Agency confirmed that these projects represent a significant step within a broader plan to develop Sirte and enhance its role as an economic, administrative, and sporting destination. This initiative aims to stimulate economic activity, create new development and investment opportunities, and upgrade public facilities to meet the requirements of the upcoming phase.
