National Oil Corporation Signs Memorandum of Understanding with PMI to Enhance Training and Implement Project Management Standards

Libya – The National Oil Corporation has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the US-based Project Management Institute (PMI), a leading authority for project management certification. The agreement aims to create a framework for collaboration in training, capacity building, and implementing international standards and methodologies in program and investment portfolio management within Libya’s energy sector.

The memorandum was signed by National Oil Corporation Chairman Masoud Suleiman and Hani El Shazly, PMI Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa.

The initiative will provide access to global educational resources and internationally accredited professional certifications. It also includes the development of a joint platform to support employees and prepare national talent to localize training and establish best professional practices.

Suleiman praised the partnership, calling it the first initiative by the corporation’s Technical and Administrative Development Center since its founding. He reiterated the corporation’s commitment to developing human resources and equipping staff with digital tools and knowledge to enhance the efficiency of strategic project implementation and achieve operational excellence in the sector.

El Shazly expressed PMI’s pride in the partnership, stating that it will strengthen the corporation’s institutional capabilities and build a sustainable talent base to improve the outcomes of vital projects supporting Libya’s economic development.
