The Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of the head of the Plans Study and Approval Committee at the National Urban Planning Authority, and the head of the Authority’s Tripoli branch, pending investigation, after their involvement in abusing power and falsifying official data was proven.
According to the Public Prosecution’s media office, the Anti-Corruption Prosecution, within the jurisdiction of the Tripoli Court of Appeal, launched an investigation into the legality of an amendment made to the detailed zoning plan in the municipality of Janzour.
The investigation revealed that the accused abused their official authority by intentionally falsifying data on an aerial map, allowing a road’s path to bypass land owned by the individual for whose benefit the data was falsified, in a clear violation of established laws and regulations.
