The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Hanna Tetteh, met in Cairo with Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs.
Abdel-Aty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for the roadmap facilitated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), and for the upcoming structured dialogue, stressing the importance of preserving Libya’s unity and holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections.
For her part, Hanna Tetteh expressed her thanks to Egypt for its continued support for the United Nations’ efforts, emphasizing the need for a political process that preserves Libya’s stability and unity and leads to credible elections.
