Tripoli – The Minister of Economy and Trade for Libya’s Government of National Unity issued Resolution No. 272 of 2026. It authorizes the Ministry of Health to identify international companies. These firms will conduct external inspections on medicine and medical equipment shipments. Inspections will take place at export ports outside Libya.
The resolution also approved several international companies specializing in inspection and conformity. This adheres to regulated controls and procedures. It aims to boost oversight efficiency for health sector imports.
The resolution outlines commitments for approved inspection companies. These include setting a cap on inspection fees. International inspection companies approved by the Ministry of Health will be referred to the Ministry of Economy and Trade. Companies must also open commercial representation offices inside Libya. This must happen within 60 days of the resolution’s issuance.
This decision strengthens oversight procedures. It ensures product conformity with approved specifications and standards.
