The Director of the Agricultural Projects Department in the Southern Region of the National Development Agency conducted a field visit to the 87 Umm Al-Dilal Agricultural Project in the Al-Zayghan area of Al-Bawanis municipality, to inspect the progress of work and follow up on the operation of the new solar system at the site.
The project, which covers 50 agricultural hectares, aims to improve the efficiency of irrigation systems and reduce reliance on the public electricity grid.
It includes the installation of a solar power system to operate two groundwater irrigation pumps with capacities of 60 and 50 horsepower, in addition to an additional system to power the center-pivot irrigation tower, with a total production capacity of up to 146.2 kilowatts, which enhances the sustainability of agricultural operations and supports the shift toward renewable energy sources in strategic development projects.
