Economist Suleiman Al-Shahoumi affirmed that the Grand Egyptian Museum constitutes a gateway to an economic, cultural, and civilizational future, noting that the museum’s official opening on November 1st represents a pivotal moment in Arab developmental awareness.
In a post on his Facebook page, Al-Shahoumi explained that this historic moment embodies the Egyptian state’s realization of the value of heritage, not merely as a memory of the past, but as an economic and knowledge resource that can be employed in building the future and enhancing soft power.
Al-Shahoumi added that if Libya embraces this momentum and invests in its cultural and tourism partnerships with Egypt on a complementary basis, it could contribute to creating a new model for regional development in North Africa, one based on cultural cooperation and shared soft power instead of relying on transient wealth.
