Chargé d’Affaires at U.S. Embassy in Libya Jeremy Berndt and Defense Attaché has met in Tripoli with military officials from the Western Region to discuss education programs for officers, according to Berndt.
“We discussed opportunities to expand professional military education programs for officers from throughout Libya, cooperate on capability development, and strengthen information-sharing to continue to make tangible progress on the U.S.-Libya security partnership, Berndt said.
“The United States is committed to increasing security cooperation with professional military officers in all parts of Libya to support military unification and help Libyans safeguard their sovereignty,” he affirmed.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of the General Staff in Western Region General Mohammed Haddad, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Namroush, Chief of Staff of the Air Force Major General Goujail, and Director of Military Intelligence Brigadier General Hamza.
