Benghazi – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Musbah Douma held a meeting Sunday with Omar Tantoush, head of the Planning, Finance and General Budget Committee, and Ramadan Shambesh, head of the Legislative and Constitutional Committee. Ahmed Bougaighis, head of the Financial Intelligence Unit at the Central Bank of Libya, also attended.
The meeting, held at the House of Representatives’ headquarters, reviewed the draft law on combating money laundering and terrorist financing. Attendees discussed observations and feedback on the proposed legislation to advance the necessary legislative procedures for its adoption.
This discussion is part of the House of Representatives’ efforts to strengthen financial sector legislation and align with international requirements on combating financial crimes. The aim is to support financial and economic stability in the country and enhance the effectiveness of regulatory agencies tasked with tracking and preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
