Queues Decrease in the South Amid Calls to Monitor Fuel Shipment Routes

Tripoli – Brega Petroleum Marketing Company continues to supply the Sabha oil depot with regular shipments of fuel. This effort aims to resolve shortages in the southern region and improve the availability of gasoline and diesel at local stations.

Field photos from several stations in southern Libya, received by the Libyan News Agency on Sunday, showed a gradual improvement in fuel availability. Congestion at many locations has eased due to ongoing fuel deliveries in recent days.

Ahmed Al-Messlati, spokesman for Brega Petroleum, said that supplying fuel alone is not enough. He stressed the need for efficient station management and ensuring stations operate according to established schedules.

Al-Messlati highlighted the key role of security agencies and crisis committees in monitoring fuel trucks from departure to delivery. He called for oversight to make sure each station receives its assigned quota and sells it properly to citizens.

He added that the stability of fuel supplies also depends on strict supervision across the supply chain to prevent violations that might affect delivery to those in need.

The spokesman confirmed that Brega Petroleum is continuing its supply programs in coordination with relevant authorities. These steps support steady fuel distribution and aim to fully resolve shortages in the south.

Ongoing fuel deliveries highlight the need for cooperation between all concerned parties, including security, oversight, and service agencies, to guarantee supplies reach their intended recipients and to prevent practices that could disrupt fuel distribution. Combating fuel smuggling and enhancing supervision of transport and distribution routes remain crucial. These measures help ensure sustained fuel availability, protect public funds, and support efforts to resolve shortages and stabilize services in southern Libya.
