President of the Libyan Presidential Council (PC), Mohamed al-Menfi, discussed with the leader of the Peace and Prosperity Party, Mohamed al-Ghweil, and a number of party members, the latest political developments in the country, and the importance of strengthening consensus among all parties to the political process, in order to build a secure and stable state.
They also discussed conducting elections according to a legal framework agreed upon by all, given that elections are the most appropriate solution to the Libyan crisis, PC said in a statement.
Al-Menfi affirmed the continuation of the Presidential Council’s work on the file of national reconciliation, stressing the need for the participation of all political parties to reach the electoral process, to meet the aspirations of the Libyans.
For his part, the Chairman and members of the Peace and Prosperity Party affirmed, during the meeting, their full support for the Presidential Council, and their welcome for its initiative to make the national reconciliation project a success, so that the country would enjoy stability and peace.
