UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said she met Monday in Tunis with Saudi Ambassador to Libya, who expressed full support for UN initiative for Libyan consensus on elections constitutional basis.
“Today in Tunis I had the pleasure to meet with His Excellency Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Ali Alsaker, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Libya,” Williams tweeted.
“Ambassador Alsaker expressed full support for the UN-proposed joint committee between the High State Council and House of Representatives in order to rebuild consensus on a firm constitutional and legal basis to enable the holding of elections,” she added.
“We also discussed the importance of ensuring that all international efforts on Libya are coordinated and unified,” UN Adviser pointed out.
