Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hammad held an expanded meeting Saturday with officials of the service, health and security sectors, notables and dignitaries of the city of Sirte, to discuss its needs, in the presence of the Director General of the Development and Reconstruction Fund and the Chairman of the Reconstruction and Stabilization Committee.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister discussed all the problems that the city is suffering from, in addition to reviewing the progress of the work of the service and security agencies and the departments and offices of the government.
Hammad confirmed that the Libyan government pays great attention to the city of Sirte, as it is the cradle of the launch of the government, and as the main incubator for the meetings of the Joint Military Committee (5+5) and because it is preparing to embrace the national forces in order to find a Libyan-Libyan solution and consensus, stressing that the existing projects In the city, it is not a gift, but rather the legitimate rights of all citizens, and the projects do not target a specific city, but rather are for the entire Libyan territory, as many packages of service projects will be launched in all parts of the country in order to facilitate all services and present them to the citizen on a golden platter, stressing that all demands will be met, most notably the treatment of oncology patients, praising all the efforts of the General Command of the Libyan National Army in securing the city.
The Prime Minister issued a decision after the meeting establishing a free zone in the port of Sirte because of its great importance from a commercial standpoint.
In turn, the Director General of the Development and Reconstruction Fund confirmed that the maintenance of Sirte Airport and Port will begin, in addition to initiating the maintenance and development of government headquarters, hospitals and schools, establishing public lighting networks, paving roads, connecting water networks, rehabilitating sewage networks, and cleaning work.
