Benghazi – The city of Benghazi is preparing to host the fifth Benghazi International Book Fair, with participants from ten countries and 75 publishing houses. The event aims to promote publishing, support cultural activity, and give readers and enthusiasts access to the latest publications across a range of fields.
The fair will be held from November 3 to November 12, with support from several organizations. These include the General Command, represented by the Moral Guidance Department, the Ministry of Culture and Arts, the Municipality of Benghazi, the Libyan News Agency, the Libyan Media Foundation, and the General Syndicate of Libyan Publishers.
This year’s edition brings together publishers from both Libya and abroad. Organizers say this will ensure a diversity of titles and publications, and provide a forum for publishers to network and exchange expertise.
The fair comes as part of ongoing efforts to support the cultural scene in Benghazi and to reinforce the presence of books as a cornerstone of knowledge and cultural dialogue.
