Presidential Council: Russia is cooperative when comes to elections

The Spokeswoman of Libya’s Presidential Council has praised the international conference held in Tripoli on Thursday as “a positive sign” and “evidence of progress”.

Speaking to Russia Today channel, Najwa Wahiba also commended Russia’s cooperation and support for the peace roadmap and the upcoming elections on December 24.

“We still affirm our commitment to the Libyan road map and the outcomes of the Geneva Conference,” she said. “But elections are a Libyan affair, and holding them depends only on the Libyan parties”.

She pointed out that the High Council of State and and the House of Representatives disagree on the electoral law, and that the council is working toward reconciliation.
