Libya’s Presidential Council said it will intervene to ensure that the general elections are held on time if the House of Representative and High Council of State fail to come to an agreement on electoral legislations.
Abdullah Al-Lafi, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, urged both the House and State Council to implement these legislations. However, he told reporters yesterday that the Presidential Council will “abide by its national and political duty to take action” if those two bodies did not agree on legislative framework for the elections on December 24.
