Abdulla al-Lafi, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, and the U.N. Advisor on Libya, Stephanie Williams, held a meeting in Tripoli today to discuss the U.N.’s new mediation plan, according to a statement by the council.
Last week, Williams unveiled a plan to bring together the House of Representatives and the High Council of State (HCS) to form a joint committee dedicated to developing a consensual constitutional basis for holding national elections.
During her meeting with al-Lafi, the U.N. diplomat emphasized that the plan aims to establish stability and achieve the elections.
