Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, met with the Chairman of the National Committee for Monitoring Prisoners and Prison Conditions, Counselor Ibrahim Bushnaf, at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi.
During the meeting, they reviewed the progress of the National Committee’s work and the mechanisms for exercising its assigned mandates, which include monitoring the status of prisoners and facilities while verifying the integrity of legal and judicial procedures taken regarding both convicts and detainees.
Furthermore, the discussions covered the follow-up on the implementation of acquittals and release orders issued by civil and military courts, as well as the committee’s role in identifying any shortcomings or violations and submitting the necessary recommendations for urgent resolution.
