Sarir: Rerouting two wells boosts Arabian Gulf’s production by more than 4,000 barrels per day

The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) announced the implementation of sidetracking for two wells in the Sarir field, increasing the company’s production by more than 4,000 barrels per day. This is in response to the directives of the Chairman of the Management Committee, Engineer Mohamed Ben Shatwan, to intensify work on wells and bring closed ones back into service using the latest technologies.

The company clarified that specialized technical teams, in collaboration with international companies, completed the sidetracking of well C307-HR, with its production exceeding 2,600 barrels per day after directional drilling. In a similar achievement, the same technology was applied to well L-95, raising its production capacity to more than 1,400 barrels per day, with no associated water produced from either well.

The company considered the results an indicator of the effectiveness of efforts to increase overall production, in line with its plans and those of the National Oil Corporation. This enhances the utilization of existing assets and reinforces its commitment to adopting modern technologies.

Engineer Mohamed Ben Shatwan said: “What has been achieved is not just a technical success, but the fruit of sincere efforts and integration between all departments and technical teams. The commitment and competence of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company’s employees are the cornerstone of achieving these results, and we look forward to capitalizing on this success and replicating it in other projects and fields.”
